Launch Your Software Development Career
Learn Fullstack Python Software Development, Blockchain, FinTech or Data Science
Time Tested Curriculum
We’re convinced you’ll thrive in your career as we’ve shaped our curriculum based on real hiring needs
For more than three years, we have been working with real employers to develop our curriculum based on their needs for technical talent. We have been holding onsite classes in New York and most recently, India. Our remote program is an ideal alternative for those who are not near these campuses and want to experience our industry-oriented curriculum. We provide a community experience similar to these campuses, even online.
We’ve chosen to emphasize Python in our technology programs as it has been consistently ranked one of the highest paid coding languages for recent bootcamp grads*. It’s known for its strong analytic capabilities and ability to process multiple levels of data. It is heavily used in finance, data science and even media industries. We are proud to say that Byte Academy was the first to launch a full-time Python program in the New York City metro area. Companies that utilize Python include: Google, NASA, Pinterest, BuzzFeed, Goldman Sachs and more.
In addition to Python Fullstack Software Development, we offer other industry-focused courses online. This includes our FinTech program, the first of its type in the world, and Blockchain, as features in Bloomberg. We work with companies in such industries to develop and adapt our curriculum to teach skill sets that match real hiring needs. Leading business executives, industry professionals, and those passionate about education may be available as special mentors for our online students. To show our commitment to get you a great career, we offer a tuition reimbursement program. Please see our FAQ for details.
We were the first to offer FinTech coding education.
Our Full Time FinTech Python Full-stack classes are offered in New York and India
FinTech is a rapidly growing industry:
- 2015 global FinTech investment grew by 75% y-o-y to $22.2 billion
- In 2016 financial technology companies raised a total of approximately $36 billion over 1500 funding deals worldwide**
- Average salary for a Fintech software engineer? $100,000+*
Areas of FinTech Include: Peer to Peer Lending, Cryptocurrency, InsureTech, Mobile Payments, Analytics, Developer APIs, Cybersecurity, Cloud Security
The divide between roles in financial services and engineering has dwindled, putting individuals who could not keep up with technology out of work. In response to this transition of talent, we train individuals how to program for the financial domain. Students graduate with the ability to develop financial applications.

Code on the blockchain
Originally known as the technology behind Bitcoin, blockchain has wide ranging applications outside cryptocurrency and the finance industry. These include decentralized voting, data compilation, supply chain management and even prevention of piracy. The blockchain is a distributed database that maintains a continuously-growing list of records called blocks secured from tampering and revision. Each block contains a time stamp from a recent block.

Data Scientists are the highest paid engineers
Our Data Science Immersive classes are offered in New York and India
Data Science, sometimes known as “big data,” is a rapidly growing highly lucrative field. Companies in all industries have immense amounts of data but need specialists to analyze the data in order to make proper business decisions. A data scientist cleans, organizes and analyzes data using tools such as distributed computing, predictive modeling, machine learning, statistics, math and visualization. The Python coding language, core to our curriculum, is used heavily in the data sciences due to its analytical capability. A data science skill set is highly in demand:
- As the highest paid engineers, data scientist salaries average $128,549 (US)*
- By 2018 there will be a demand for 490,000 data science jobs. This demand is expected to exceed supply by more than 50%
- It is estimated that there will be 240 exabytes daily by 2020
A data science background is useful for other roles including: data analyst, data engineer, data architect, data and analytics manager, and statistician.
Harvard Business Review Named Data Scientists "The Sexiest Job of the 21st Century"
FinTech. As the first to offer a FinTech coding program, we will help you develop a portfolio of financial applications while working with real industry mentors. We offer more narrow focuses such as Quant-Algos and our BlockChain Track as featured in Bloomberg. Additionally, we’ll use the same technologies as our Python offering.
Data Science. Learn Data Science, one of the highest paid engineering roles and deemed as “the sexiest job of the 21st century” by Harvard Business Review. Our programs cover data acquisition and exploration, statistical modeling and inference, machine learning, Pandas, and more.
Devote as much time as you would like to learn how to code. Do you initially only have limited time but want to ramp up your weekly hours? We’ll let you switch programs if you start out with Mid or Max. You may switch at the start of the month with three days notice.
Technology: Upon enrollment, you’ll be matched up with instructors and a technology mentor that will work with you for the duration of the program. While our educators will be there to answer your questions via our online chat boards, they will also work with you live 1:1 for a specified number of hours per week depending on the program schedule selected.
Industry Specialists: Should you want help from one of our industry specialists, you may “trade-in” technology mentor hours for time with these individuals. This has been particularly helpful for students for advice on their project work. Areas in which our specialist mentors advise include: cloud computing, enterprise architecture, quant-trading, blockchain, product management and more.
Min-Time: This is the lowest time commitment option. You’ll spend only 10-15 hours per week learning how to code over nine or more months. Two hours per week will be spent with a live mentor and you’ll complete at least one project before graduation. We’ll provide career prep and job search help too.
Mid-Time: This program requires more of a weekly time commitment than our Min-Time option, but includes our Tuition-Refund Guarantee Program and the most extensive level of career services. With Mid-Time, you’ll spend 20-25 hours per week learning how to code over six or more months. You’ll have three hours per week with a live mentor and career support throughout and after the engagement.
Max-Time: Devote the maximum amount of time learning how to code with this option. You’ll spend 40 or more hours per week learning how to code over three or more months. We offer Q&A chat board with our instructors, career prep, and job search help as you will have a job offer guarantee.
No matter what scheduling option you choose, you’ll experience key components of our program.
