Practical Curriculum: Python, Blockchain, Fintech & Data Science
Adapted to company needs and shaped by industry experts
Our software development programs build technology skills for hiring needs
Learn to code with Byte Academy. We pioneered industry-focused programs beginning with the launch of our Fintech Immersive course, the first of its type in the world. Our educational programs bridge the gap between business and technology.
We work with companies to develop and adapt our curriculum to teach skill-sets that match real hiring needs. We also utilize the expertise of leading business executives, industry professionals, and those passionate about education and software development to craft each course.
Our courses are open to individuals spanning from beginner to more advanced programming backgrounds. Some may have already had industry expertise or work experience, while others are brand new to the domain that they want to study at Byte.
Our bootcamp programs consists of three phases of equal length. For more advanced programmers, there is an option to “jump” Phase 1 and/or take phases a la carte. Most students complete our three phase course. Students must pass an assessment in order to advance from one level to the next. For full-time courses, career services are provided from Day 1 and after graduating our program.
Since individuals learn at different paces, the option to repeat a phase is included in tuition

A data scientist cleans, organizes and analyzes data using tools such as distributed computing, predictive modeling, machine learning, statistics, math and visualization. The Python coding language, core to our curriculum, is used heavily in the data sciences due to its analytical capability. A data science skill set is highly in demand:
- As the highest paid engineers, data scientist salaries average $128,549 (US)*
- By 2018 there will be a demand for 490,000 data science jobs. This demand is expected to exceed supply by more than 50%
- It is estimated that there will be 240 exabytes daily by 2020
A data science background is useful for other roles including: data analyst, data engineer, data architect, data and analytics manager, and statistician.

“The scarce resource in quantitive investing is talent”
— Matthew Granade, Point72 Ventures
Called the “Rocket Scientists of Wall Street” by Investopedia, Quants are in high demand but difficult to find – our course sets out to change this.
Assets under management by Quant traders have been rising with the number now approaching $350 billion. Last year billionaire Steve Cohen’s Point72 committed as much as $250 million to be managed by Quantopian, an online platform where members build computerized trading models and earn a share of profit. Among other items, he was attracted to the innovative way Quantopian harbors quant talent. Our course, also, will develop these sought-after quant skills.

Code on the blockchain
Originally known as the technology behind Bitcoin, blockchain has wide ranging applications outside cryptocurrency and the finance industry. These include decentralized voting, data compilation, supply chain management and even prevention of piracy. The blockchain is a distributed database that maintains a continuously-growing list of records called blocks secured from tampering and revision. Each block contains a time stamp from a recent block.
